Jack Ma Alibaba Founder in Kathmandu Nepal

Jack Ma, Chinese tycoon, the founder of Alibaba Group Holding Limited, has come to Nepal on a 15-day visit with a seven-member delegation. He arrived in Nepal on Tuesday in a group of five Chinese citizens, one Danish citizen and one American citizen.

According to Khimraj Bhusal, Information Officer of the Immigration Department, his group arrived in Kathmandu via Bangladesh by chartering a Hong Kong Business Aviation ship.

From Tribhuvan International Airport, they directly went to Marriott Hotel in Naxal, Kathmandu. Information officer Bhusal said that all seven people, including Jack Ma, had taken a 15-day tourist visa.

Prime Minister’s Press Adviser Govind Acharya informed that Jack Ma, the head of the world-famous company Alibaba, is also scheduled to meet Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda”.

At a time when Nepal is making maximum efforts to bring in international investment, the Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with the head of Alibaba, who is in Nepal, but the time is not fixed, he informed. He informed that the Prime Minister will ask to invest in Nepal.

Alibaba has an investment in Daraz, an online business company operating in Nepal. Alibaba, a Chinese e-commerce company, is providing consumer-to-consumer, business-to-business services through a web portal.

Alibaba is providing electronic payment services, search engines related to buying and selling and cloud computing services.

Who is Jack Ma?

Born on 10 September 1964 in Hangzhou, China, Jack Ma had a passion for the English language since childhood. That’s why when he was nine years old, he used to cycle 27 kilometers to be a tourist guide. Thus he improved the English language.

After graduation, Jack Ma began his career as an English teacher. After applying for jobs more than 30 times, he only met with failure. His efforts to join the police force were also futile as he lacked some skills. Jack Ma once interviewed for a job at a KFC branch that opened in China. However, out of 24 candidates, 23 were selected, he was the only one who was dropped.

In 1995 Jack Ma fled to America with some of his friends. After arriving there, he searched for material about China on the Internet. After not finding what he was looking for, he returned to China and started an internet company. Investors immediately agreed to invest in it. Jack Ma himself did not know much about computers. However, he started an online business as he said, “The mouth of the eater is not bitten by a lice.” In 1999, he founded the e-commerce company Alibaba with his friends. In its early stages, Chinese citizens considered him a fraud. However, Alibaba’s business started to grow gradually with the expansion of the Internet.

Jack Ma disappeared from public life in 2020 after criticizing the Chinese government. He criticized Chinese President Xi Jinping during a speech on China’s financial regulations and state-owned banks. The Chinese Communist Party protested after this speech. His speech was also called an attack on the party. After that, his business started to be interrupted. Later he was seen in Japan.

Jack Ma’s total net worth is 33 billion 600 million dollars. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, he is ranked 39th in the list of the world’s richest people.
