The Department of Industry has issued a notice and called upon all businessmen who meet the criteria to offer loans. Startup entrepreneurs willing to take loans with latest knowledge, thinking, skills and abilities should submit a proposal within 21 days.

The Industries Department on Thursday invited submission of project proposals for startup enterprise loans. Loans up to 25 lakh rupees are available on the project mortgage. Projects that meet five criteria will get loans. The loan interest will be three percent and the term will be up to seven years. Only businesses that have been registered for less than seven years will get the loan.

The paid up capital should be less than Rs.50 lakhs. It is stipulated that the total income is not more than 5 million rupees per year, the fixed capital (excluding the value of real estate) is not more than 2 million rupees, and the number of full-time workers in the enterprise is not more than 10 people.

At least five percent of the total annual expenditure of the enterprise should be spent on product development, market development and research and development. There is a provision that the patent or design or software of the intellectual property of the enterprise should be registered or the patent or design or software should be registered. Those who are not registered in Nepal, who have imported goods or services from abroad without using information promotion and latest thinking, who have been created by breaking up an existing company or business, or who have worked as a subsidiary company or firm, who have been blacklisted in the Credit Information Center, or who are operated by such a person, will not get a loan.

In addition to the government bodies, the committee may invite startup representatives, investors, and experts from the startup sector to the meeting. The committee will monitor the start-up enterprise and conduct the work.
