What is a skill test?

  • Skill test is the process by which the knowledge, skills and attitudes you have are checked (written and practical) according to the competency standard and certificates are awarded to the successful candidates.
  • As in other countries, in Nepal, the system of providing partial or full certificate of proficiency has been started based on the criteria according to the recognition method of prior learning and the level of professional qualification.
  • When testing with this method, the professional skills, knowledge and attitude of the people are tested and according to their level of efficiency, a certificate of partial efficiency or full efficiency is provided as a unit.
  • A person with partial proficiency will be allowed to retake the proficiency test after acquiring the skill through training or any other means for the remaining proficiency for the full proficiency certificate of that level.

In addition, the certificate of examination taken for levels 1 to 4 based on the professional skills taken by NSTB so far is also called a skill test.
