Nepal Tourism Board, Trekking Agencies & UNDP (United Nations Development Program) start to create One thousand short-term employment opportunity. In collaboration with Nepal Tourism Board and Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAN), one thousand people will be given short-term employment. The project will provide relief especially to the workers and laborers in the tourism sector.

NTB said that the program would provide relief to the workers in the tourism sector who are unemployed due to Covid Pandemic. The Board is going to provide employment to the workers in the tourism sector under the Sustainable Tourism Project for Livelihood Rehabilitation run in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

Nepal Tourism Board said that the project run with the support of UNDP would help solve the problem of unemployment created by Covid. The project aims to provide short-term employment to about 5,000 workers, especially in the tourism sector. Similarly, the board has set a target of giving wake-up call to more than 2,000 people in partnership with local levels across the country.

This small effort to save the tourism business and also to sustain the workers of this region will give some relief. The Tourism Board has provided one million dollars for the project for a period of two years and six months. A total amount of 2 million 50 thousand US dollars will be spent on behalf of UNDP by investing 1 million 50 thousand.
