The Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has decided to close educational institutions across the country for four days. An emergency meeting chaired by Minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha at the ministry has decided to close all educational institutions. Speaking at the meeting, Minister Shrestha informed that the educational institution had to be closed due to inclement weather.
Education Secretary Ram Prasad Thapaliya, Science Secretary Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Spokesperson and Joint Secretary of the Ministry Deepak Sharma, Joint Secretary Dr. Hari Lamsal, Director General of Education and Human Resource Development Center Vaikushtha Aryal were present. Before the meeting, Minister Shrestha had a consultation with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
In a meeting held at the Ministry soon after, Minister Shrestha said that all the educational institutions had to be closed down due to the health problems of millions of students. The meeting has decided to close all educational institutions from Tuesday to Friday.
