Some studies in the world and even in Nepal have shown the fact that children in different countries of the world, including Nepal, are lagging behind in learning due to poor reading skills.
According to the Global Monitoring Report published by UNESCO in 2012, about 250 million primary school children in the world cannot read sentences well, of which 200 million are in the Asia-Pacific region.
In our country Nepal, in 1990, the learning achievement of class 3 and 5 was tested at the national level. Since 2009, some NGOs have tested the reading ability of students in some districts of Nepal in which the reading skills of primary school students have been shown to be very weak.
