Government of Nepal, Ministry of Health & population published a notice regarding the National Vitamin-A Program and Juka Medicine feeding program/campaign for children.
In this regard, under the leadership of the Ministry of Health and Population, as in previous years, the first phase of the program of giving vitamin A to children from 6 to 59 months and worm medicine to children from 12 to 59 months twice a year was conducted on 2077 Mangsir 11 & 12 BS. Is going to be done.
National Vitamin A Program Date: 2077 Mangsir 11 & 12 (Thursday & Friday)
It is requested that you coordinate at all local levels to carry out the campaign effectively by following the additional instructions as follows.
Note:
1.If a child or caregiver develops a fever or other signs and symptoms similar to those of Covid-19 while taking vitamin A capsules, the child will be closer to health after the signs and symptoms have healed.
Arrangements should be made for the organization to disseminate information on vitamin A capsules to the concerned households through women’s health volunteers.
2.In view of the epidemic of Kovid-19, the regular hand measurements of children from 6 to 59 months of age taken by women’s health volunteers have been postponed.
3.As in the past, along with the National Vitamin A Campaign, Balvita was distributed to children between the ages of 6 and 23 months.
4.To provide alternative health care volunteers for pregnant women over 60 years of age and pregnant women in view of the epidemic of Covid 19.
5.To ensure that children above 12 months of age are fed through parents while feeding vitamin A and that infants from 6 months to 12 months are fed by female health volunteers.
6.The program will provide 5 masks and 100 ml of hand sanitizer to women health volunteers in 42 districts where the Su-Ahara II program is being implemented. UNICEF Nepal will provide technical assistance to the districts affected by MSNP. In the districts where there is no supportive organization, the concerned local level has to make the necessary arrangements.
