This program aims to financially support innovative, technology-driven, and sustainable startups that contribute to Nepal’s economic growth and employment generation.

Qualified entrepreneurs can apply for loans ranging from NPR 500,000 to NPR 2,000,000 for approved startup projects.

The Industries Department on Thursday invited submission of project proposals for startup enterprise loans. Loans up to 20 lakh rupees are available on the project mortgage. Projects that meet five criteria will get loans. The loan interest will be three percent and the term will be up to seven years. Only businesses that have been registered for less than seven years will get the loan.

StartUp Uddham Loan Application: How to Apply & Procedure

The Department of Industry has issued a notice and called upon all businessmen who meet the criteria to offer loans. Startup entrepreneurs willing to take loans with latest knowledge, thinking, skills and abilities should submit a proposal within 21 days.

🧭 Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants must meet these criteria as per IEDI’s guidelines:

Registered Private Firm, Partnership, Company, or Cooperative as a recognized industry.
Engaged in innovative and sustainable product or service development.
Use of technology or scientific innovation in business operation.
Business registration period not exceeding 10 years.
Annual turnover not exceeding NPR 150 million in any fiscal year.
Must not be blacklisted or have already received government startup grants.

🔍 Eligible Sectors

IEDI has identified five key sectors for Startup Enterprise Loan applications:

Agriculture, Forestry & Production-Based Enterprises
(Agro-tech, food processing, herbal products, livestock, irrigation, mining, etc.)
Information Technology & Digital Innovation
(Software, communication, AI, e-services, waste management, public service delivery improvement)
Infrastructure & Transportation
(Construction, electric vehicles, logistics, public transport safety)
Social Services & Tourism
(Education tech, health startups, eco-tourism, hospitality, and entertainment)
Traditional & Local Resource-Based Enterprises
(Rural crafts, traditional industries, and locally sourced products)

🏦 Loan Details

Minimum loan amount: NPR 500,000
Maximum loan amount: NPR 2,000,000
Loan Type: Project-based concessional loan
Repayment: As per project duration and approval by IEDI

📝 Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following along with their project proposal (Annex-4 format):

Company/firm registration & renewal certificate
PAN certificate and latest (2081/82) tax clearance
Latest audited financial report
Citizenship of proprietor or authorized person
Proof or self-declaration of innovation or technology use
Staff salary details for FY 2081/82
Self-declaration confirming no prior government startup loan
