How to become an ideal teacher

Albert Einstein said, “The most important quality of a teacher is to instill in his students a joy of creative feeling and knowledge.” The word teacher is still incomplete in terms of spiritual definition. In spirituality, the guru (teacher) i.e. Gu-Guna, Ru-Roop is interpreted as ‘leading from darkness to light’, which means vast. In ancient times, the teacher-disciple relationship was like a father-son relationship. Vishwamitra and Dronacharya were such gurus, at whose feet even God would bow his head. In the current context, it is questionable whether there is such an ideal teacher-student relationship.

The teacher is the person who catches the eye of all the students as soon as they enter the classroom. During the course of the class, the teacher and the student have an eye-to-eye discussion. Therefore, the role of the teacher should be to have a good and humble conversation with the student in the classroom.

From time to time we hear of teachers trying to control their students by giving them physical punishment and swearing. It is heard that such teachers have inflicted corporal punishment on the students, which is completely wrong.

Because the teacher is a guide but it is not his right to act in a way that affects the student physically and mentally. So Bruce Lee said, “A teacher can never be a giver of truth, he can act as a guide, a guide for every student, through which the student can discover his truth.”

Book knowledge alone does not open the eyes, so the role of today’s teacher is to win the hearts of children in a different way by presenting interesting topics such as moral education, psychological and spiritual masters’ guidance.
