It’s objective is to create a favorable and competitive environment for the development, expansion and operation of telecommunications services with private sector participation in Nepal.

This notice has been published to submit applications from Nepali citizens who meet the following qualifications as they are required to be recommended for appointment as legal members of the Nepal Telecommunication Authority.

  1. Age completed 30 years and not more than 65 years till the last date of submission of application.
  2. At least 7 (seven) years of experience in the relevant field after passing at least Bachelor’s degree in law from a recognized educational institution. However, in the case of employees of government services or public institutions, authorities, boards, committees, commissions, foundations or public limited companies, they have obtained a bachelor’s degree in law and at least 7 (seven) years of working experience in a gazetted first class, tenth level or higher position.
  3. Not found to be ineligible for appointment according to prevailing law.
  4. Interested persons who meet the above qualifications should submit an application to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology by attaching the following documents:
    (a) Application to open the business for which the appointment is to be made.
    (b) Copy of Certificate of Nepali Citizenship,
    (c) Personal details including qualifications (Bio data).
    (d) Copy of educational qualification certificate (including equivalency certificate if qualification from foreign educational institution),
    (e) Copy of experience opening certificate (showing period of service),
    (f) Sealed professional work plan of maximum 5000 words prepared on A4 size paper in Nepali or English language (Computer typed first page (Cover Page) with your name written at the top and no name or any sign identifying yourself anywhere else),
    (g) Two copies of recent photographs,
    (h) Self-declaration of not having permanent residence permit of any foreign country,
    (i) Copy of any other documents related to the post.
  5. In the case of educational qualification and work experience certificate, it should be certified by a notary public.
  6. Last date for submission of application is fifteen days from the date of publication of this notice. If there is a public holiday on that day, within office hours the next day.
  7. Place of submission of application: Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Institute Coordination Branch, Singha Darbar.

NTA Nepal Telecommunications Authority Intrduction & its Functions

To make arrangement for the coordination and healthy competition among the persons providing Telecommunications Service and facilities. To meet the objectives, NTA has been actively performing the following functions: Granting Licenses to operate the telecommunications service in private sector. Involving national and foreign private sector investors in the operation of the Telecommunications Service.

Prescribing, fixing and approving the standard and quality standard of the plant and equipment relating to the telecommunications and the telecommunications service. Approving and regularizing the fees to be collected by the licensee for providing the telecommunications Service. Regularly inspecting and monitoring the activities carried out by service providers to ensure that the quality of service and quality standard in telecom equipments have been maintained.

Settling dispute between two service providers or a service provider and its customers. Providing suggestions to Nepal Government on the policy, plan and program to be adopted by Nepal Government for the development of the telecommunications service.
