Government of Nepal, Ministry of Finance published the Economic Survey 2076/2077. Infection with the corona virus (Covid-19), which has spread as a global epidemic, has caused human losses and serious effects on the world economy. Steps taken to prevent and control this infection have disrupted the chain from production to supply and consumption.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected that the global economy will shrink by 3.0 percent by 2020 due to the slowdown in economic activity caused by the Corona epidemic.
The aggregate economic indicators have been satisfactory till the end of the Fiscal Year 2076/77. Inflation, foreign trade, balance of payments, investment and financial indicators are becoming favorable to economic stability. Due to the increase in exports and decrease in imports, the trade deficit has improved and the balance of payments position is in surplus.
