Tanahu Hydropower Limited published the job vacancy notice for various posts and levels. Vacancy for Environmental Expert. Tanahu Hydropower Limited (THL) fully undertaken by the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is the executing agency (EA) of the Tanahu Hydropower Project, funded by Nepal Government, Nepal, Electricity Authority and with loan support from Asian Development Bank (ADB), European Investment Bank (EIB) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Tanahu project is only a reservoir project being under construction having wide ranges of environmental and social issues to be addressed by the project. THL have the overall responsibility to implement through the Environmental and Social Management Unit (ESMU) to be headed by ESMU Chief and delegated the responsibility for management and implementation of the environmental and social safeguard issues and plans for the project.
THL intends to recruit an environmental expert to lead ESMU. The position is very important for the project as this position is key focal person for addressing wide ranges of social and environmental safeguards measures of the project from planning, coordination, design, review, implement, monitoring and evaluation as well.
JOB Vacancy Post: Environmental Expert
Qualification and Experience:
The Environment Expert should have extensive experience in project management covering all related technical, environmental, social and managerial skills. He/she shall have at least master degree in the environment, forestry, biology, botany, zoology or related field. She/he shall preferably have at least 12 years of relevant professional experience in officer level in relevant field in governmental or any national or international organization registered as per the government of Nepal. The candidate is preferred with experience and expertise in developing and implementing environmental and social management plans and/or systems under ADB/EIB or any international donor funded project working with their safeguard policies in
hydropower projects.
Reporting Line & TOR:

Salary and Other Benefit:
He/She will be assigned in for the position level -10 as of the company as defined in the company rules. The salary and other benefit will be as per the company rules and regulation. The selected candidate will be assigned 1-year contract possibly with extension based on his/her performance.
